After an enthralling 8 days of racing, the Tour de France Femmes has now drawn to a close. Shining a spotlight on women’s cycling in the most impressive way, the rider’s brought their best and every single stage win was fought for.
Le Col Wahoo had the best start the team could have imagine. The race began on the legendary Champs Elysees cobbles and in this first stage the riders were animating the race and attacking off the front. Caught just 3km before the finish the team still managed to take 6th on the first stage as well as the combativity award and the Young Riders classification.
The team managed to hold onto this jersey in the second stage, as well as taking an impressive 5th in the sprint. They also won the combativity award on this stage, showing their dynamism and holding true to their motto of colouring the road. The 4th stage had multiple gravel sectors and was a great spectacle for the race, although the team struggled, we are sure more of this type of racing will continue, just like it has in men’s editions of the Tour.
The last few days have brought some stunning individual performances from riders at the top of their game like Marianne Vos and Annemiek Van Vlueten and we now just can’t wait until we see the race return in 2023!
