Although there has been various iterations of the race all the way until 1999 this is the first stage race that is a direct relative of the men’s edition, starting in Paris on the Champs-Elysees the same day as the final stage of the men’s race.
Covering 1029km over 8 stages the race has a variety of stages starting with a flat 82km stage around the streets of Paris. It is likely to see a sprint finish as all riders will be trying their hardest to be the first to wear the coveted Maillot Jaune in this new look Tour de France. The race concludes with 2 mountain stages, the last finishing up the La Super Planche Des Belles Filles.

Le Col Wahoo take a strong team to the race combining a mixture of experience and versatility. Lizzie Holden is expected to shine on the mountain stages, coming to the fore in the final stages. Majo is the team captain and her experience will be relied upon, especially in Stage 4 with its gravel section due to her classics experience.
