To celebrate LC__CC reaching over 200,000 club members, we've asked you to share your biggest achievements with us. Since 2021, together we have cycled over 649 million kilometres and completed 21.3 million rides and with an average distance of 30.35km per ride. Our club is made of riders from across the globe who each share the same ambition, to ride faster and further. "In March I lost my youngest brother aged 44 to pancreatic cancer.

So this year I rode Ride London for pancreatic cancer UK to help others. I felt 100 miles wasn't enough If I was going to ask for sponsorship, so I rode to and back from the event as well. I raised £4236, Chris would have approved."

In June '23 I struggled to bike just 34 miles for a charity ride in the heat, only to be diagnosed a month later with stage 3 colon cancer. After six months of surgery and chemo, this year I am regularly biking 40 miles while feeling very good! I have already ridden more in '24 than the whole of last year!

Completing the Dragon Ride Gran Fondo Sportive in the Brecon Beacons, to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support, in memory of a friend who died from cancer in 2022, 132 miles and 11,000 feet of climbing.

This was the longest and toughest ride I had ever done, but I drew mental strength from my friend, who I believe was looking down on me. Crossing the finish line was a great feeling, I had slayed the dragon and raised a good sum of money to help support people living with cancer, these people can feel very isolated, lonely and frightened. Thinking about their situations made me realise that my suffering on the ride was the least I could do to help make a small difference.

It is coming back to cycling after cancer and 8 cycles of chemotherapy.

My biggest cycling achievement over the last Year is the Paris Brest Paris Ride in August 2023 with 1230 km. It was my longest ride and while I was riding, it was a torture, but nevertheless it created beautiful memories. It's an atmosphere unbelievable, 8000 riders, the people in the villages who decorated the streets, who give you water, coffee, Crepes,... it's really cute. So I think it's my biggest achievement, with the most beautiful and hurtful memories ;)

Just getting back on the bike after my second bout with covid left me breathlessness for over 6 months.

Everything was chore and even climbing stairs needed rest. Zwift and LC_CC community and club rides helped me to get back to it slowly and steadily with tonnes of great chat, banter and ride leaders that really took the edge trying to on my own. Can't thank any of them enough.

I completed the Le Col 8,848 and base camp challenges (â€¦ and the festive 500) in 2023. I am also doing the Le Col 8,848 challenge again in June as well as the weekly workouts with Chris Opie on Zwift and will be joining my fellow Le Colsters on a Group ride in the Surrey Hills in September 2024 (IRL).

I'm a breeze leader (help women get cycling) and I took 5 of my lovely ladies, who cycle for pleasure, to Women v Cancer Ride the Night. It's 100k around London at night. I was so proud of them committing to training and enjoying the night! I was a proud mother hen.

At age 58 , and only starting road cycling in my late 40's , I trained for and completed Trans-Pyrennes- over 800 Km with nearly 16,000 m climbing- an amazing adventure.

I was diagnosed with lupus at 15. In 2020 I had a bilateral thyroidectomy. Exercise, fitness, stamina and energy have always been a huge issue for me! Over the past year I have worked hard on losing almost 100lbs and building my stamina. Yesterday I completed my first 3.5mi. I use to be unable to make it one city block! I am so proud of myself and canâ€™t wait to keep going!!

Riding 40km with a cafe stop in the middle with my partner in the sunshine this Spring. I became disabled from a foot trauma in late 2022 and being unable to walk more than a few meters unaided and experiencing foot pain all the time my ability to ride gets worse each week. 40km might not sound much to most LC CC members (and it wouldn't have sounded much to me prior to my foot trauma) but to me it's a really big deal. I cannot express the joy I have gotten from cycling since I took up regular riding in 2012, and to have that taken away from me unexpectedly was like a bereavement. Mentally I had been very depressed and unwell. But riding changes all that. Doing that ride gave me just the most amazing sense of joy and wellbeing. And the coffee? Well, let's just say I've never had one that tasted so good !
