Bradley Wiggins - Icons – Competition

  1. This competition is promoted by HarperCollins Publishers Limited (“HarperCollins”), 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9FG, with Bradley Wiggins and Le Col Ltd.
  2. This promotion is open to all residents of England, Scotland and Wales except employees of HarperCollins (or their parent, subsidiaries or any affiliated companies), Le Col Ltd and their immediate families, who are not allowed to enter the competition.
  3. You can be any age to enter this competition. If you are under 18 you must have permission from your parent or guardian.
  4. How to enter: pre-order a copy of Icons: My Inspiration. My Motivation. My Obsession. Send your receipt or order confirmation to iconsfirstmanin@harpercollins.co.uk along with your answer to the following question: Bradley Wiggins was born in which Belgian city? Competition entries must be in English.
  5. The opening date for entries is 28th September 2018. The closing date for entries is 11.59pm London time on 31st October 2018. No entries received after this date will be accepted.
  6. HarperCollins will not accept:
    1. responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
    2. proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
  7. Only three entries are allowed per household.
  8. A receipt or order confirmation of Icons: My Inspiration. My Motivation. My Obsession can be used in conjunction with one competition entry only. If you try and enter more than once by a) using multiple emails with the same receipt or order confirmation of Icons: My Inspiration. My Motivation. My Obsession, or b) emailing the same entry more than once within a 24 hour period, then only the most recent submitted entry will be accepted as a valid competition entry.
  9. HarperCollins, in its absolute discretion, will not accept competition entries which are automatically generated by a computer, which are completed by third parties or in bulk, which are incomplete, or which are (in the view of HarperCollins) illegible, forged or tampered with.
  10. Any application containing incorrect, false or unreadable information will be rejected. Any applications made on behalf of or for another person or multiple entries will not be included in the competition.
  1. The prize is for one winner and up to 5 friends to go on a bike ride with Bradley Wiggins. Any attendees under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
  2. The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to availability. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the prize.
  1. No cash or prize alternatives are available.
  2. HarperCollins reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
  3. HarperCollins reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
  1. HarperCollins’ decision as to who has won the competition shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
  1. The winner of the competition will be selected by an independent judge chosen at random from those who have submitted a valid competition entry in time. The winner will be contacted by email no later than Friday 30th November 2018.  The winner must confirm acceptance of the prize within 30 calendar days of being notified as winner – if the winner fails to confirm his/her acceptance in time, he/she shall without further notice forfeit his/her prize and the independent judge shall award the prize to another eligible entrant.
  2. The venue and exact date and time of the prize will be confirmed with the winner after the winner has been provided with an estimated date, time and location for the bike ride. Unfortunately, due to the limited availability of Bradley Wiggins, it may not be possible to change the date, time or location of the prize bike ride to suit the competition winner's availability. If unforeseen events (such as illness) occur, the date, time and venue of prize bike ride may be subject to change, and HarperCollins will give the winner as much notice of any venue, time or date changes as is reasonably possible in the circumstances.
  3. Accommodation and travel to the venue of the prize bike ride is not included in the competition prize and the winners will have to make their own way to and from the ride, at their own expense.
  4. HarperCollins accepts no responsibility if the winner is not able to take up the prize.

  2. HarperCollins reserves all rights to disqualify any competition entrant whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.
  3. Insofar as is permitted by law, HarperCollins, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate anyone in connection with this competition or accept any liability to anyone for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring in connection with this competition or as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of HarperCollins, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  4. The competition and its terms & conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to the competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
