As we draw a close to this seasons Members Week we asked you to share with us your proudest moments on the bike and your biggest cycling achievements. Thanks to the thousands of entries we received, we picked some of our favourites to share with our members.

Cycling across Britain for charity: Like many, I only discovered cycling during a Covid lockdown, when the thought of walking one more lap around the local park became somewhat unbearable. Cycling offered me a new freedom but most of the time I felt I had no clue what I was doing.

Fast forward 3 years later, I had grown a little in confidence and in a moment of madness signed up for Ride Across Britain (also known as LEJOG), to cycle 980 miles over 9 days. At the same time, it was an opportunity to raise money for charity. Suddenly it all made sense because I had a purpose, a milestone to hit, a goal to achieve. I spent the year training and pushing myself to my limits, and then before I knew it, I was clipping in at the start line at Land's End. What followed was 9 days of immense physical and emotional challenges. We had tempestuous weather, cycling through strong winds, torrential rains, savouring the sunshine and incredibly beautiful landscapes of Britain, wrestling with our will power and into our lycra at 5am in our cold little tents. Never before had I realised the importance of having good and versatile kit, being one of the fortunate few who didn't get saddle sores or froze when it was cold and wet (thanks Le Col!).

Riding across Britain helped me appreciate the beauty of this island in new ways and I have no regrets doing this. Meeting my fellow riders and hearing their stories was inspiring and made me love the cycling community all the more.

This year was my most challenging and enjoyable cycling year to date. I am already researching my next cycling challenges, including my biggest one to date - convincing my boyfriend to get into cycling (he's unsure about the lycra bit...).

I was classified as a Para-cyclist in June and rode my first 12-hour TT in the same week with a torn back muscle. I only managed 218 miles as the conditions were terrible but now know I can do it so will be training over winter as hard as I can to go further.

My peak of 2024 was undoubtedly completing an Everest in the first weekend of June. I had previously completed a vEverest on Zwift's Alpe du Zwift in 2021 as part of the LeCol x Strava challenge, so I had a rough idea of what I was going into, but doing it outside, in the Danish hills of Mols brought a number of new challenges. I rode as part of an organised event, and having riders around me really helped motivate me to keep going.

Instead of the roughly 8.5 repetitions of ADZ, the hill I rode on required me to repeat the climb 101 times, and ride 425 km - almost double the distance. This meant an entirely different way of riding, where any rhythm was frequently broken by the descent.

The weather was also a more significant presence than it had been indoors. Somewhat uncharacteristically, the sun was at full blast and brought temperatures above 30Â°C. To a Dane, this is quite a significant challenge, and I noticed several riders struggle with cramps and heat. I managed to control my effort and fueling and always felt in control and on track all the way into and through the night. Watching the sun rise in the early morning, with only a few reps left was definitely the highlight of the ride. I might do it again, but not anytime soon.

Having failed to complete London to Paris in 2018, due to a combination of heatstroke and mechanicals, I got it done this June! Despite strong headwinds on days 2 & 3 I rode every single mile without illness, puncture or mechanical, woohooo!

In August, I completed the Tour Des Stations - Everest Ultrafondo in Switzerland. As a tall, heavy, non climber, this was by far and away the hardest thing I've ever trained for. I completed the event, within the time limit, for a total distance of 261km with 9232m of climbing and 14 hours of moving time. The route was incredibly challenging, including 20% gravel sections after 240km and 12.5 hours of riding in 30-degree heat. Many (around 40%) of riders were not able to complete the route.

I had my second hip replacement in July last year - took a while to get back to fitness - have now completed two long rides around the New Forest the longest being 51miles and continue to become fitter by completing longer training rides - cycling helps with work related PTSD from a number of years ago.

I have an incurable blood cancer called myeloma and over the last year I have had 6 cycles of chemo and then maintenance treatment and now have relapsed again, but my biggest achievement is through all of this I have kept cycling

On turbo and outside when weather allow including a virtual London to Paris cycle but this September all going well I will do the real thing over 4 days. Cycling gives me such a buzz especially when life can be pretty hard!

Riding my first 10.000 km within a year. Most of the kilometers were made in two riding vacations with friends: First, Palma de Mallorca, riding (among others) Sa Calobra and second, in France where we rode the famous Alpe d'Huez.
