Junior Designer Le Col

 

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior Designer with some product development experience to join the Product team of a high-profile performance-based cycling brand. The right candidate will successfully support a crucial part of the Product Design process and be an important part of a dynamic and fast-growing team based in London. 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and work with the product team on all product related projects to help create a consistent standard of excellence across all Le Col garments
  • Assist the Design team with research - themes, colours, print design, cycling history and inspiration for each season and/or capsule collection to help create a clear vision for each product within the collections
  • Assist, create and maintain Design mood boards
  • Support the design team by creating prototypes or small mock ups as required, provide ideas for trim executions and construction and continuously seek improvements where possible
  • Assist the design team with research and sourcing of new fabrics, trims, and other raw materials
  • Assist and maintain colour approval process
  • Create and maintain CADS and tech packs for the factory
  • Keep up to date on competitor products and trends and present research when required
  • Assist and maintain Design critical path, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Support the product team with managing the delivery of products and production of pieces within cost and MOQ’s targets
  • Participate in fit sessions and reviews of prototypes and samples throughout the season to ensure a clear understanding of the product range and business future goals
  • Assisting on all other needs as required by the business

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Candidate’s background

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in apparel Product Design preferably within the Sport / performance industry
  • Experience in print design
  • Excellent researching skills
  • Basic product development knowledge
  • Good understanding of critical path
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and MS Office applications
  • Bachelor’s degree or related education in Fashion and Textiles
  • Basic understanding of cycling clothing and cycling culture
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
