Yesterday saw the Ride London Classic event take place for both amateurs and professionals taking to the roads and riding through the Capital out into Surrey and back to the finish on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
Prudential Ride London
One Pro Cycling Team took part in the Charity Event.
It was a beautiful day and perfect conditions for a ride. ONE Pro Cycling were taking part in this event for the first time. It was a fantastic opportunity for supporters of the team, those that had registered as members and wider cycling enthusiasts to come out and cheer on the team in one of the biggest and most exciting races of the year. Personally I noticed the fantastic support of everyone out on the course cheering us on as we raced through the streets of London. So may people who shouted out on the way round. Even if it was too fast to acknowledge it did not go unnoticed.
Our team objective for the day was two fold. Get someone in the main break of the day which was done by Pete Williams who did an amazing job also winning the sprints competition out on the circuit before getting caught on the run in. The second objective was a result in the final sprint for the line. This proved to be hard as the pace was high and a number of mechanicals and crashes hindered this objective.
However the team performed exceptionally showing it deserves respect at this level in anticipation to registering for its Pro Continental licence next year!
I would like to say one last thanks to all the management and staff who provide all the support we could need to perform at this level. Also to all the fans who showed their support to the team and last of all to the organisation for putting on one of the best events a British team can take part in. I look forward to coming back one more time next year.
Thanks,
Yanto
