Tour De Yorkshire

 

Some of the biggest names in cycling will be on hand in May to take part in the first ever Tour de Yorkshire! The tour will be ridden by 6 WorldTeams and is ranked UCI 2.1, the teams are Giant-Alpecin, Team Sky, BMC Racing, Lotto NL-Jumbo and IAM cycling.

They will be joined by 6 Professional Continental Teams - Cofidis, Europecar, MTN-Qhuneka, Cult Energy, Roompot Oranje Peloton and Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise. The 4 Continental Teams - Team Wiggins, NFTO, ONE Pro Cycling and Madison Genesis will also be joined by an Great Britain National Team.

Matt Prior announced his ONE Pro Cycling team would be taking part and said the following -

"We are incredibly excited and proud to be racing in the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire, particularly in our first year. The Grand Départ in Yorkshire was a huge inspiration for us setting up this team as it showed the level of interest there is in cycling and racing in the UK. Our riders will be massively looking forward to being on the start line with some of the biggest teams in the world."
