London To Monaco - Le Col Partners With The Blue Marine Foundation | Le Col UK

Le Col Partners with the Blue Marine Foundation

-
Like many, we’ve been woken up to the impact of single use plastics in our oceans and unsustainable manufacture. That being the case, we wanted to make sure that we were doing our bit. From the world’s first fully recycled jersey to improving our packaging, we’ve gone one step further in our partnership with the Blue Marine Foundation.

BLUE’s mission is to help restore and protect the health of our oceans. Central in their fundraising over the past 8 years has been their annual challenge - covering 1000 kilometers in just 8 days to go from London to Monaco.

Le Col are set to help out by providing the foundation with a full complement of kit to help make the cause stand out on the roads as they undertake their rides.

The Jerseys in question will follow the design and composition of this years Tour of Britain Leaders Jerseys. Made from recycled plastics, yet offering high performance tailoring and refined detailing, we’re proud to be helping the cause whilst doing good.

I am very pleased to be able to partner with BLUE, as a business owner I feel responsible to make ethical and environmentally conscious decisions and partnering with Blue is in line with our aim to significantly reduce our waste in the packaging we choose at Le Col. By supplying kit made from 100% recycled materials from ocean rescue plastic, it felt like the right thing to align our intentions with a charity doing such great work in this space.

The event itself sees riders tackle eight days of riding. Starting in London, the first day takes you to Portsmouth and onto a boat to Santander. You can then conquer the North coast of Spain, summit the Pyrenees, and skirt the south coast of France before arriving at the Palace for a VIP reception in Monaco.
